At the 14th Orchestra Symposium on 11 and 12 November 2025 at FC Augsburg 1907’s WWK Arena, soffico GmbH unveiled its new Orchestra MCP (Model Context Protocol) feature for the first time – a key technology for AI-supported agentic work automation. The presentation marked one of the most important technological milestones in the past financial year and was met with great enthusiasm by the 165 participants – the highest number of visitors since the event series began.

MCP as the basis for a new generation of intelligent automation

MCP enables large language models (LLMs) to be used as operational agents that interact directly with machines, sensors, MES/ERP systems and industrial legacy environments. The Orchestra integration platform provides operational resources for this purpose in a structured, secure and expandable manner via MCP. This enables companies to automate IT and OT workflows dynamically, context-sensitively and AI-orchestrated for the first time – without replacing existing systems or making costly adjustments.

The approach was presented by product management experts Dr Sebastian Heger and Markus Benndorff, who demonstrated the potential of agentic work automation in a practical way.

With MCP, we enable LLM agents to make real operational decisions based on real-time data and our customers’ existing system landscapes. This makes workflows context-aware, autonomous and adaptive. This opens up completely new possibilities for process automation without interfering with existing IT or OT architectures.

Strategic classification and high-profile political impetus

In addition to its technological focus, the symposium once again offered comprehensive insight into the strategic orientation of soffico GmbH. Managing Director Harald Wenger emphasised the importance of flexible and secure integration architectures as the basis for future AI-supported processes in industry.

Another highlight was the keynote speech by Wolfgang Fackler, member of the Bavarian State Parliament and defence policy spokesman for the CSU parliamentary group, who was welcomed as a guest of honour. Under the title ‘New Defence in Bavaria: The Future of Defence is Digital’, he outlined the role of digital technologies for the future of security and defence policy in Bavaria and Germany.

Orchestra, together with MCP, bridges the gap between AI and operational reality. We are already seeing how companies are using it to integrate IT and OT more closely and significantly accelerate their automation. This is a real game changer for the industry.

Practical programme and strong response

In addition to the strategic outlook and the MCP premiere, the symposium offered a variety of practical customer presentations from different industries. Numerous participants shared their impressions on LinkedIn, highlighting the combination of technological innovation, practical relevance and excellent networking opportunities.
